Fast forward yourself a few months from now to the spree of Bollywood Awards 2009.
The Bollywood movie awards season should start from January-February 2010. So you will have Filmfare Awards 2010, Screen Awards 2010, Stardust Awards, IIFA Awards, Sansui Awards etc. The most prestigious awards of them all is Filmfare Awards. Though, it is now attended by only the artists who will perform, the winners and the ones who are going to be felicitated, instead of the entire film industry, as it used to be once, Filmfare Awards are still consider the barometer of performance of Bollywood artists and technicians over a yearly basis.
This time in 2009, we have seen how comedy has ruled the roost, yet again like 2008, with people wanting entertainment over movies on serious issues. We all know how critics gave a thumbs-up to Kurbaan but it was rejected by the masses. Similarly De Dana Dan was criticized by the media, but the masses have made it a hit. In any case, the biggest hits in 2009 have been comedies and light, frothy rom-com entertainers like All the Best, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, De Dana Dan, Paa and 3 Idiots. Paa, the sensitive movie on Progeria, a successful movie also had its fun moments and so had Wanted a superb action movie that was a formula masala movie with all ingredients in the right order.
Thought it is a bit early, we are going ahead with the very popular post of Bollywood Trends, the calculated prediction on the Filmfare Award 2010 and many other awards that will precede or follow it. You are free to argue on our choice of Filmfare Awards 2010 and other Bollywood awards.
