A Rahman Wins Grammy Awards, A R Rahman Grammy Winner


A R Rahman has won 2 Grammy Awards or Slumdog Millionaire at Los Angeles. Rahman has won Grammy Awards for the best compilation sound track for a motion picture category and the Jai Ho song for the best motion picture song category. A R Rahman had earlier won Oscar Academy awards in January 2009 for Slumdog Millionaire


“This is insane, god is great again,” Rahman said as he accepted his second award before a VIP audience. The other nominees in the sound track included Steve Jordan for “Cadillac Records,” Quentin Tarantino for “Inglourious Basterds”, and the producers of “Twilight” and “True Blood.”

In the best song category Rahman defeated competition in the form of Bruce Springsteen for his song “The Wrestler”, from the Oscar-nominated movie of the same name. The music director shared the Grammy award for the best motion picture song “Jai ho” with veteran lyricist Gulzar and Tanvi who wrote the Spanish lyrics for Jai Ho

A R Rahman’s awards now include 25 Filmfare Awards,2 Grammy Awards,2 Oscar Academy Award,1 BAFTA, 1 Golden Globe, and 4 National Awards
